Introduction to the CISER research servers

CISER maintains a group of multi-processor servers for social science researchers at Cornell. These servers are available for Cornell faculty researchers, students, staff and non-Cornell collaborators, and accessed via remote computing.

Why remote computing?

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Review usage policies
  2. Request a CISER computing account
  3. Connect to the CISER research servers
  4. Find and manage your work space
  5. Manage your sessions, programs, and processes
  6. Move files to/from the research servers
  7. Log-off vs. disconnect

Also, learn how to: reset your password, give others access to your files, compress files, print from the research servers, and check current server usage.
