CISER Data Archive: Tutorial

What do Data Archive people do?

Pam Baxter is the CISER data archivist.  She can help you identify data to meet your research needs and refer to you print or machine-readable resources owned by other units in campus.  She also serves as liaison to Cornell University Library locations, ICPSR, and the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research.

Lillian Broomfield is the archive file manager. She FTPs or copies data from remote locations or media, cleans and formats files, reformats and prints documentation, and maintains records about the collection for the archive's online catalog.

We work closely with staff in other CISER units and research support departments on campus. We refer users to the Cornell University Library, Cornell Statistical Consulting Unit, and other locations as needed. Archive staff, in turn, frequently receive referrals from other Cornell units.
