CISER has been awarded the CoreTrustSeal for the period of 2017-2019. CoreTrustSeal Data Repository certification is international recognition that a data repository meets recognized standards for sustainability and trustworthiness. CoreTrustSeal replaces the Data Seal of Approval (DSA) which CISER held from 2014-2017 and is the result of a merger between the DSA and the ICSU World Data System. CoreTrustSeal is a community based non-profit organization promoting sustainable and trustworthy data infrastructures based in the Netherlands. See here for more information on the CoreTrustSeal.
With this CoreTrustSeal certification, the CISER data archive has been recognized as meeting the highest and most stringent standard for data management and preservation that journals may adopt as a requirement for publication. Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Guidelines Level 3 require data citation and reproduction materials be deposited in a trusted digital repository. CISER continues to provide Cornell researchers with these standards for data repositories, and with the addition of our R-squared Results Reproduction service, serves as a one-stop publication requirement service center for the Cornell social science community.
